About the Role

The Steel Estimator prepares accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This role requires strong technical ability, the capacity to interpret drawings and specifications, and the confidence to manage estimates with moderate independence. You’ll work closely with engineering, detailing, project management, and vendors to ensure bids are complete, feasible, and aligned with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Daily

  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform material takeoffs and quantity calculations
  • Prepare estimate worksheets and pricing summaries
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing
  • Identify scope gaps and constructability considerations
  • Coordinate with detailing and project management teams

Weekly

  • Participate in bid review meetings
  • Update bid calendars, logs, and pipeline reports
  • Collaborate with project management on capacity and scheduling
  • Support entry-level estimators as needed

Monthly

  • Conduct post‑bid reviews and refine estimating accuracy
  • Update cost databases and historical pricing
  • Strengthen vendor and subcontractor relationships

Quarterly

  • Contribute to process improvements and template updates
  • Analyze steel market trends and pricing shifts
  • Participate in cross‑functional planning

Annually

  • Support budgeting and forecasting
  • Participate in performance and development planning
  • Contribute to long‑term estimating initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in structural steel estimating, fabrication, or construction
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency in structural steel takeoffs, pricing, and bid preparation
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings and connection details
  • Understanding of fabrication processes, erection methods, coatings, and industry standards
  • Familiarity with AISC codes and estimating software (Tekla EPM, FabSuite, Bluebeam)
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids

Job Overview Project Manager

Endres Manufacturing is an AISC certified and Structural Steel Manufacturing company that has been around for 100 years. Endres Manufacturing is a family-owned company located in both Waunakee and Arlington, WI. Currently, we are hiring a Project Manager position. The Project Manager is responsible for managing the projects throughout the design process, into our shop for fabrication and scheduling out for delivery to the job site. The Project Manager will be the main point of contact on the job and be working on building positive, professional relationships with the customer and design professionals while assisting with the planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities for Project Manager

  • Work directly with Structural Designers, Project Leads and Project Managers to help implement and hit project goals.
  • Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution.
  • Responsible for all communications with Joist & Deck Suppliers to coordinate scheduling and answer any job-related questions.
  • Prepares the schedule with the Vice President of Operations and updates as necessary to reflect current project status.
  • Oversees project goals and ensures project goals are achievable and stay on schedule.
  • Manage all purchase orders, change orders, submittals, RFI’s and proposals.
  • Assist with securing materials and other items necessary for completing project goals.
  • Checking addendums and new information for any changes to your assigned work.
  • Effectively communicates within the company with the Production Management Team.
  • Comprehension of and ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, etc.
  • Completes project close out documents.

 

Qualifications for Project Manager

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a field related industry
  • 1-5 years of proven and successful experience.
  • Experience with Tekla EPM, Bluebeam, CAD, Revit, SDS2 a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite

Job Overview Machine Operator

Endres Manufacturing Company is seeking dependable, safety‑minded Machine Operators to join our Punch & Shear, Saw, and related production departments. Machine Operators configure, load, operate, and maintain equipment to ensure efficient, accurate, and high‑quality production of structural steel components. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, mechanical problem‑solving, and contributing to a team‑driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily machine operations in the Punch & Shear, Saw, Burn Table, and related departments

Job Overview Machine Operator

Endres Manufacturing is looking for a Machine Operator and Material Handler for our Structural Department. Machine Operators take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading, and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability. They need to ensure that the machine works at its full capacity, oversee its maintenance, and perform timely quality checks. Material Handlers are responsible for all material handling needs, primarily using overhead remote cranes to move Structural Steel.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day tasks in the Structural department
  • Calibrate the machine before the production begins.
  • Ensure the machines are regularly checked and cleaned.
  • Feed raw materials into semi-automated machines and help the assembly line.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet scheduling demands.

A structural fabricator is responsible for creating metal structures and components from raw materials using various tools and machinery. This role requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

  • Design and Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and understanding technical drawings, blueprints and schematics to create accurate components.
  • Interpret and use prints to perform layout and welding techniques for structural steel fabrication
  • Cutting and Shaping: Using tools like shears, rollers, and bending machines to cut and shape metal.
  • Assembly: Putting together various metal parts to form a complete structure ensuring all components fit together correctly. Perform welding tasks as well to join metal parts securely.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet specifications and standards.

Standard Working Hours:

Monday-Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and Deliver customer approval drawings, fabrication drawings and installation drawings on time and with accuracy.
  • Prepare conceptual design and draft submittal drawings for customer, field measurement drawings, final installation and fabrication drawings.
  • Revise per redlines from customer.
  • Responsible for meeting project schedules and budgets
  • Develop new product designs in communication with supervisor.
  • Deliver drawings on schedule based on project schedule requirements.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment managing multiple jobs.

Job Requirements:
